Another Stretch Goal Bites the Dust! 

This means that once the campaign is over, Backers will vote to determine which characters I write the short story about! 

It will of course take some time to do the writing, editing, and everything else to turn it into a full-fledged eBook. But when it's all said and done, you will have your own exclusive story set within the Beating Back the Darkness universe. And it is a story that will NOT be published anywhere else. Ever.

After announcing Stretch Goal #2, I also decided to up the ante a bit for you fine folks. So, I decided to throw a brand new bookmark into the mix! Because of that, all backers with physical rewards will ALSO receive one (1) signed glossy 2"x6" Yezreth (TCoA) Bookmark. Additional Signed Yezreth bookmarks can now be purchased via Add-ons. 

What's Next?

 Help us smash this goal like the rest, and I will work to create a special glossary for each book in the series. The glossary will come with a pronunciation guide for all of those silly fantasy names that a nigh unpronounceable and more than likely, pronounced nothing like the way I've actually spelled them (lol)! 

 Oh, and I'll also toss in another signed bookmark ;)

Oh, and one other thing...

My lovely wife thought it would a terrible great idea that if we hit the 5k goal, that I do some embarassing fun!

So, I'd like to also announce that at my wife's request, I will perform Karaoke—on one 80's song—for you. It will undoubtedly be awful awesome and it will be captured on video for your enjoyment.

Wow, you folks are amazing! Your support has unlocked Stretch Goal #1!

This means that the entire series will now receive:

• Custom Art for the Chapter Headers
• Custom Art for the Scene Breaks (Dinkus)
• Stylized Interior Formatting

AND

I will put together a downloadable Wallpaper Pack (desktop and mobile) for all backers! 

And that means it's time to announce our 2nd Stretch Goal!

I love writing short stories! While epic fantasy typically demands longer stories, a Kickstarter Project is a great place to publish a new short story. Couple that with the fact that the story will take place in a well established world with a beloved character or two, and it sounds like a win-win for me and you!

So here's the offer: Unlock this goal and I will let you, the backers, vote on which character to write the short story about.  I'll provide a list of potential characters, and you will decide! The story will probably be around 5k words. I generally don't set hard limits on stories like this, so it could be a bit longer, but it should give you a rough idea. 

Once the story is completed and professionally edited, this story will then be turned into an ebook (with a cover and everything).  Backers of all levels will receive a copy of this ebook. 

This ebook will be a Kickstarter Exclusive and will NOT be published anywhere else.

Wow! The response to this project has been overwhelming. Thank you all so much for investing in this project... and in me!

Not only did this project hit the initial goal really quick, but it even landed the coveted "Project We Love" badge from Kickstarter!

That's pretty epic, and that means it's time for me to start sharing more details on stretch goals! So let's dive in!

Now that the outside of the books are going to be gorgeous, what about the inside?

Unlock this goal and... I will work to beautify the interior of all the books in the series! I'll start by providing art for the chapter headers for all 6 books. This is typically going to be some  nice ink art.  Below is just an example of what I had created for another series.

In addition to creating some beautiful chapter headers, we will also add in a custom dinkus. And no, that's not a bad word, it's actually the name of the little characters or symbols you use to separate scenes within a chapter (I only know the proper name because of JA Andrews). 

Along with both of those, I will also be able to move forward with overhauling the interior formatting for the entire series. I'll be able to make sure that the entire 6 book series will end up with a matching beautiful, stylized formatting for both print & ebook versions. 

As an added Bonus: If we crush this goal, I will also create desktop wallpaper packs from my maps and I'll toss in some fantastical landscape art AND a phone wallpaper pack from character & book art. All backers will receive both!

Oh, and before I go, I wanted to highlight one other really epic kickstarter that may interest you. I already mentioned my friend, JA Andrews. She's an amazing writer and she's hilarious. Well, her project ends in a couple days, and I'd be remiss if I didn't share it with you.

I'm completely blown away. I knew people were excited about this project, but that was fast!
