My formatting software glitched out on me and the fully formatted version of Dragon's Fire was inaccessible for a bit. Quite frankly, I was worried it was lost and I'd have to start over on the formatting. Fortunately, the company's tech support came to my resuce and we were able to get everything working again!
Dragon's Fire is now fully formatted for ebook and I'm preparing it to be republished/rereleased. As normal, print may take a bit longer.
I'm now working on The Halls of the Fallen King. This one should be done a lot quicker!
Additionally, I've had some changes to my day job. I've got a more flexible schedule now, which means I've got more time to commit to getting this whole project wrapped up for all of you.
Hang in there, we're getting close to the finish line!
What's in a name? And the project push!

Today's update is one of a personal note, but I do have a project update at the bottom!
So, what's in a name?
It's an age old question, but one I've been coming face-to-face with a lot recently.
You may or may not know that Tiger was indeed my "given name", and it has been since birth, but it wasn't my legal name.
To make a long story short, my mother had me when she was just 16 years old. Suffice to say, our family was a bit of a mess back then, and my grandmother mistakenly announced to the family that my mom had decided to name me after my grandfather.
Well, that wasn't the case. My mom never wanted to name me after her dad, but she was a young girl and was pressured into it. So she agreed to legally name me Oscar, but told the family that day in the hospital that I'd be called Tiger.
Why Tiger? She knew I was going to be born to a teenage mom, with no dad in the picture. She knew my life would be hard, and she wanted me to have a strong name.
She was right, and I'm grateful.
That was more than 40 years ago, and as you know, the name stuck.
However, my wife and I have wanted to change my legal name forever. My only condition was, that out of respect, I wouldn't do it until my grandfather passed away. Although he himself never called me Oscar, he was quite proud that I was named after him.
He passed a few years ago, so Alaina and I finally bit the bullet and began the process this year. Who knew how complicated (and costly) an adult name change is? The process has been an absolute headache, and we're still working on stuff like passports, but legally speaking, my name change is complete!
So, when I meet a person for the first time and they inevitably ask, "is that your real name?" I can simply say yes. :)
Project Status Update!
I've been working on reviewing my editors feedback on The Darklight's War. After I hit send on this email I'll actually be sitting down for an editing session. I'm hoping to knock out a chunk of chapters today. If I can continue to get a few chapters done each day, we can have this final draft ready for ARC readers around mid-September.
Going through this book has also helped me catch a few items that were missed in the glossary, so now I can add them!
I'm also planning to order the rest of the project swag over the next couple weeks.
And that's about all I have time for today, thanks for listening, and have a great day!
